This group comprises of staff from all over the China. These delegates stayed at Sunway Lagoon Resort & Spa from 19-22 May 2009.

Founded in 1995 in Shanghai, Yonghe King has become a famous Chinese fast food chain brand. Its three classic products are soybean milk, fried bread sticks and beef noodles. Yonghe King has restaurants in 14 cities in China. There are more than 20 Yonghe King Restaurants in each of Beijing, Shanghai, and Shenzhen.

KL Festival 2009

Kuala Lumpur Festival was initially conceived with the objective of branding Kuala Lumpur as a City of Arts, Culture and Heritage.

National Chingay Competition

Chingay is a sport where trained pole bearers takes turn balancing and throwing a huge vertical pole on their head, chin, shoulder, back or chest without using their hands. These Pole measuring from 7.5 - 10.5 meters long, comes complete with decorations and giant triangular silk flag. These are no easy feat when you consider that the total combine weight of the accessories and pole that the pole bearer has to balance is a whopping 30kg!

KUALA LUMPUR : Malaysia has beat out three other countries in the region to win the right to host a men's tennis tournament on the prestigious ATP World Tour.

 
First Firefly aircraft lands in Ipoh after test flight

IPOH: The first Firefly aircraft to arrive here landed safely at the Sultan Azlan Shah Airport after a smooth 45-minute flight. The 72-seater aircraft, flown by Captains Jalil Md Dom and Mahir Effendy, arrived at 10.55am yesterday after taking off from the Skypark Subang terminal. The community airline is scheduled to begin its much-anticipated Ipoh-Singapore route on July 12.

KUCHING : The 12th edition of the Rainforest World Music Festival will go on as scheduled, from July 10 to 12.
 
Easier access to National Park

KUCHING : It will soon be easier for foreign tourists to get to Mulu National Park, Unesco's world heritage site in northern Sarawak, when MASWings launches its direct flight from here.

KUALA LUMPUR : Tourists can consider Malaysia's tough measures in battling the global spread of the influenza A (H1N1) virus as an assurance that the country is a safe place to visit.

 

Golden Sands Resort, Penang

Pleased to inform you that the redevelopment of the Golden Sands Resort by Shangri-La, Penang is well underway and progressing steadily. By the 14 November 2009, all the 387 guestrooms including suites and two dedicated smoking floors will be completed.

Dining: The site where 'Sigi's by The Sea occupies has its schedule extended to accommodate additional details in order to ensure a premier and casual beachside dining experience. It shall be renamed and be fully operational by early September 2009. The Sunset Lounge is currently closed for makeover. When it reopens, the lounge with its center platform will feature a spectacular 360 degree views of the resort's grounds and gardens. It shall be operational by early August 2009.

Public Areas: Work has commenced and shall be completed in phases. This encompasses part of the existing lobby, the new Cool Lounge , Gymnasium, Spa Center, lift landings, ballroom and function rooms scheduled for completion by the end of September 2009. Work on the remaining section of the lobby encompassing the reception, porte cochere and lobby shop commences in September and is scheduled for completion by mid December 2009. At the same time, the landscaping around the resort will be enhanced with more trees, plants and shrubs.

While the redevelopment is in progress, none of the service areas, including the pools and gardens will be affected and this includes the Garden Cafe, Kuda Laut Bar and the Adventure Zone.

 

Bukit Merah Laketown Resort

Kindly be informed that The Orang Utan Island is temporary closed to visitors until further notice.

For safety reasons, they are unable to ferry visitors to the Orang Utan Island because of the very low water level and there are many tree stumps at the bottom of the lake. The Orang Utan Island will be opened as soon as the Condition improves.

The Bukit Merah Laket is a reservoir and the water is used to irrigate the nearby paddy fields. Once a year, when the planting season coincides with the dry season, the water will drop to a very low level.
